How To Watch IPTV on a Windows PC

Whether you have an HTPC (Home Theater PC) connected to your TV or you have a multi-screen workstation, you may be looking for an easy way to watch IPTV. There are a few apps available for Windows but in my experience, most of them aren’t user-friendly. Your IPTV provider may have even included an Android APK to use with your subscription.

The easiest way to watch IPTV on a Windows PC is with BlueStacks. Not only does BlueStacks allow you to play just about any Android game on your PC, you can also use it to install APKs either directly from the Google Play store, or ones you’ve downloaded from somewhere else.

BlueStacks is free and a great way to try out various Android Apps in a sandbox-like setting. You can even create desktop shortcuts directly to the app you want to use. Controlling your apps with a keyboard may take some getting used to but if you have a game controller attached to your PC, you can use it for navigation as well.

Step by Step Guide to Watching IPTV on Windows

  1. The first thing you’ll want to do is download and install BlueStacks, directly from their website: https://www.bluestacks.com/
  2. After you install BlueStacks, I would recommend looking around at the settings to make sure everything is setup to your liking.
  3. Obtain the APK for the IPTV program you wish to use. My personal recommendation would be to use TiviMate as it provides lots of options for customizing navigation and adding multiple IPTV playlists. You can try it out for free but if you want some additional features you’ll either have to pay for a year or lifetime membership. A great guide for downloading the APK can be found at Firesticktricks.com. This guide will also show you how to install the app on your Fire Stick. I would recommend downloading and saving the TiviMate APK to a location on your computer that you’ll remember.
  4. Once you have your APK saved to your computer, open BlueStacks and navigate to the home screen. Once there you should see a button on the right side of the screen labeled APK. BlueStacks Once you click this button, you’ll be prompted to find the APK on your computer.
  5. As soon as you install the APK in BlueStacks, it will create a shortcut on your desktop. If you don’t want this, simply delete it.
  6. If you’ve previously set up TiviMate on a Fire Stick or Android box, I would recommend backing up your settings and then restoring your setting directly through the TiviMate app. You’ll save yourself the hassle of having to set up everything again. The reverse is also true. You can use your keyboard and mouse (including copy and paste) to set up your playlists and EPGs on TiviMate, through BlueStacks and then backup that information to a common location. If you’re unsure of where to find the backup and restore options in TiviMate, you’ll want to navigate to Settings and then General. Once on this screen, scroll to the bottom and you’ll find Backup Data and Restore Data. TiviMate IPTV General Settings

TiviMate certainly isn’t the only IPTV app that will work with this method. Any apps that you can download an APK for or are on the Google Play store will work. You won’t require a powerful PC to do this either, any computer from the last 5 years should be more than enough. It won’t cost you anything to test it out either, which is always nice. One of the main advantages of using this setup is that it allows you to use just about any Android App.

If you’re looking to use this method but still don’t have an EPG, check out our quick guide on using m3u4u.com, which provides amazing tools for editing IPTV playlists and even includes a free EPG.
