How do you take a screenshot on a Chromebook? Google has made it easy to take a screenshot or record a video of your screen with a simple keyboard shortcut.
It took a long time for the Chromebook’s built-in screenshot tool to become more user-friendly, since it was only accessible via a keyboard shortcut and not one that was especially evident. But in early 2021, Google released a screenshot feature for Chromebooks that allows users to record still images and video of whatever is displayed. The Screen Capture application may be launched in two different ways.
The easiest way to capture part of your screen on a Chromebook is to hit Ctrl + Shift + Show Windows
If you’re not sure which button that is, the Show Windows button on your Chromebook should be above the number row, right in the middle.

If you can’t remember the keyboard shortcut, if you click on the quick settings at the bottom right of your screen (where the clock is located), one of the options that pops up is Screen capture.
Step 1. Access the quick settings

Step 2. Click Screen capture on the left side of the menu

Once you enter the Screen capture area you’ll be able to draw a box around the area of the screen you wish to capture.
To quickly take a screenshot of your entire screen on a Chromebook, simply hit Ctrl + Show Windows
This will save a screenshot to your clipboard which you can Edit, Delete or Paste.
Whether it’s demonstrating someone how to fix a problem you’re having or brainstorming ideas for your next major project, the possibilities for screenshots are unlimited. Learning how to quickly take a screenshot on your Chromebook will help speed things up immensely.
